Dakota's ER trip

Ok, I will try not to make this a novel. We went to KY lake with my family this weekend like we do every year on the 4th weekend. Dennis and I and the boys (along with other family) were sitting in my Grandparents back yard. Dakota was playing with the Ninja Turtle Fishing Pole that Kate got him. He was practicing casting and reeling in. *we weren't on the water at the time, just practicing. Well he got his line caught on a tree branch. So he started to reel it in and run at the same time. He was not looking where he was going and fell into this thing in my grandmother's yard. It is a birdhouse and she has a sundial, plants, and rocks planted around it. It is very pretty.
Well Dakota fell face first into it. He started crying, and we assumed he was just scared. When he stood up there was blood gushing everywhere. I freaked out and just started running around crying and being useless. Dennis and my dad grabbed him and got some paper towels and a wash cloth. It became obvious that he would need stitches (at this point I have not seen the injury as I am still being useless and running around FREAKING) So Dennis holds Dakota and I drive and we start heading to the closest town, hoping to see Hospital signs. We finally make it to the hospital in ....Benton.. ..KY..... This hospital's exterior left much to be desired. We contemplated leaving and driving some more to find somewhere else. But we decided to go on in.
At first the hospital staff was stunned because they thought I was in labor and they did not have a maternity ward. I assured them I was ok .(Even though I did start with some contractions just from stress but they quickly went away) We were put in a room immediately and seen by the doctor. The good thing about small town hospitals is that they are not busy. We were in and out in a little over an hour. Anyways at this point Dakota and Dennis are covered in blood, I am still useless, and we are trying to keep Dakota awake. He keeps trying to fall asleep. The nursing staff then goes in to prepare him for stitches. He cries for about one second and then begins laughing. I am in the hallway and can hear him cracking up. Dennis said that one of the male nurses was wonderful with him Dakota thought the guy was hilarious. He got six stitches. We then did a head scan and they said everything looked ok.
We took him to the store to get a surprise. He was pretty bummed though because he can't get his head wet, so our swimming weekend was not as great as planned. He has been such a trooper. However, Dennis and I are still freaked and won't let him out of our site. It was the worst feeling. I am going to put some pictures on here. They are not too bad as they are with my camera phone. The ones Dennis took with our camera are graphic, but I don't have the stomach to post them right now.
